UNE VRAIE ÉQUIPE, UNE ÈRE NOUVELLE POUR
FRELIGHSBURG!
Une équipe, sous le signe d’une gestion participative,
s’est présentée aux élections
municipales du 1ier novembre 2009 dans la
Municipalité de Frelighsburg. Cette
équipe est élue par acclamation le 2 octobre et sera assermentée le 9
octobre.
Trois conseillers sortants et quatre nouvelles personnes la
composent. Roland Lemaire, maire
et Lucie Trudel, adjointe au maire uniront leurs forces pour assumer la fonction
de maire. Ils travailleront en
cogestion avec Charles Crawford, Éden Muir, Louis Roy, Charles Choquette et
Pierre Parent. Nous souhaitons mettre à contribution les citoyens;
plusieurs possèdent des expertises ou des expériences
inestimables. Nous croyons qu’une gestion ouverte et franche donnera un
souffle de vie à notre Municipalité.
Des dossiers d’importance pour la survie de notre village nous
attendent. Les innondations le
long de la rivière, l’aboutissement de la recherche d’eau
potable et de sa distribution, la révision du traitement des eaux
usées du village et la construction du réseau,
l’accès à internet haute vitesse à
l’extérieur du noyau villageois, la réfection du
réseau routier, la construction d’une caserne, un plan
d’urgence pour la Municipalité, l’optimisation et
l’inauguration du Centre Communautaire et Professionnel Missisquoi, le
développement de nos parcs, une étude de coûts pour enfouir
les fils électriques dans le village et la recherche d’un projet
innovateur pour donner un essor à la Municipalité de
Frelighsburg.
Un vrai partage des tâches, des décisions prises avec une
vision d’un plan d’ensemble, un continuel souci de
transparence dans nos actions et nos
propos sont notre gage de réussite.

Roland Lemaire. Maire de Frelighsburg pendant 9 ans,
conseiller municipal à Frelighsburg durant 14 ans, j’ai
procédé à la fusion du village et de la paroisse de
Frelighsburg en 1985. J’ai
toujours vécu à Frelighsburg avec ma famille. J’ai 4
enfants et 9 petits enfants qui sont ma fierté. J’ai été producteur
laitier pendant 40 ans et je travaille encore sur ma ferme avec mon fils. J’ai servi la paroisse comme
marguiller et le bien-être des ainés me préoccupe; c’est pourquoi j’ai
assumé la présidence
de l’âge d’or et la fonction d’administrateur à
la FADOQ.
De grandes
décisions sont à prendre pour notre Municipalité, les enjeux
sont sérieux car la survie du village en dépend. Je veux des
projets à notre mesure, porteurs de bien être pour les citoyens et
construits avec les citoyens.
Mayor of Frelighsburg for 9 years and councillor for 14 years, I oversaw the
fusion of the township and the village in 1985. I have always lived in Frelighsburg with my family--I have 4 children and 9
grandchildren who are my pride and joy. I was a dairy farmer for 40 years and still work my farm with my son.
I have helped to manage the church and the wellfare of our seniors is a major interest. That is why I
assumed the presidency of the "age d'or" and the administration of the FADOQ.
Big decisions are looming for our municipality, and the stakes are very high for the village. I
want to see projects that fit our needs and our means, that improve the lives of our citizens, and are
accomplished with the support of Frelighsburg residents.

Lucie Trudel. Résidente à
Frelighsburg depuis 1994, je termine un mandat de 4 ans au Conseil
Municipal. Directrice
d’établissement scolaire retraitée, titulaire
d’une maîtrise en administration scolaire, productrice agricole, je suis
très concernée par la qualité de vie et la survie du
village.
I have been a Frelighsburg resident since 1994 and a town
councillor for the last 4 years. As an agricultural producer and a
retired school director holding a masters in educational
administration, I am especially interested in the well-being of the village and quality of life issues.

Charles Crawford,
propriétaire-fondateur du Domaine Pinnacle, est un homme d’affaire
et un chef d’entreprise expérimenté. Conseiller
municipal depuis 4 ans, il s’est activement impliqué dans
plusieurs initiatives communautaires importantes depuis qu’il s’est
installé à Frelighsburg avec sa famille en 2002.
Charles Crawford, the founder and owner of Domaine Pinnacle, is an experienced businessman and
entrepreneur. He has been a municipal councillor for 4 years and has been actively involved
in several important community initiatives since he moved to Frelighsburg with his family in 2002.

Eden Greig Muir a étudié et enseigné
l’architecture à New York avant de revenir dans les Cantons de
l’Est, sa terre natale, en 2003. Membre de l’Ordre des architectes
du Québec, il est spécialisé en design résidentiel.
Il a aussi développé plusieurs projets sur internet
tels que des communautés en
ligne, des sites web éducatifs et ForumFrelighsburg.com.
Eden Muir studied and taught architecture in New York before returning to his native Townships in 2003.
A member of l'Ordre des architectes du Québec, he specializes in residential design. He has also
developed many Internet projects such as online communities, educational websites, and ForumFrelighsburg.com.

Louis Roy. Pomiculteur
de troisième génération, actif dans différents
organismes de bénévolat de la région depuis son tout jeune
age et villageois permanent depuis printemps deux milles huit.
A third-generation apple producer, active in various volunteer organizations in the region since
his childhood, Louis Roy has been a full-time village resident since 2008.

Charles Choquette.
Résident
permanent de Frelighsburg depuis le printemps 2007.
Il
détient une formation en administration des affaires à
l’Université du Québec à Montréal depuis
1981. Il devient très rapidement propriétaire de son entreprise
et s’implique sur plusieurs comités dans le domaine des
communications. Son talent pour la vulgarisation le conduit également
à devenir formateur à l’Université du
Québec à Montréal, les HEC et dans plusieurs milieux
d’affaires à travers le Québec.
Reconnu
pour ses habilités de négociateur et d’analyste, il entend
mettre à profit l’ensemble de ses qualités afin de
contribuer à la réalisation des différents dossiers qui
concernent les citoyens.
Charles Choquette has been a full-time resident of Frelighsburg since early 2007. He
began his studies in business administration at the University of Quebec in Montreal
in 1981. He was soon owner of his own company and became involved in
several committees in the communications field. His talent for popularization
also lead to becoming a trainer at UQUAM, the HEC
and in several Quebec businesses. Recognized for his abilities as a
negotiator and analyst, he looks forward to applying these qualities to
issues of concern to Frelighsburg citizens.

Pierre Parent
s’est établi au cœur du village au printemps 2008
où il opère le gîte Au Chant de l’Onde. Bachelier en
communication et peintre muraliste, il a œuvré dans le domaine
touristique depuis plus de 15 ans en Gaspésie, en France et au Mexique.
Il est aussi secrétaire du TAC de Frelighsburg.
In the spring of 2008, Pierre Parent took up residence at the heart of
Frelighsburg where he operates the Bed and Breakfast "Au Chant de l'Onde."
As a mural painter with a bachelor degree in communication, he has worked in the field of tourism for more than 15 years in Gaspesie,
France and Mexico. He is also secretery of the Tourism, Art, and Commerce group in Frelighsburg.

FRELIGHSBURG 2009:
A TEAM FOR A CHANGE!
Inspired by the concept of participatory management, a new team has been formed for the Frelighsburg
municipal elections of November 1, 2009. On October 2, 2009, the team won by acclamation since there was no opposition, and will
be sworn in on October 9.
Three
former councillors and four new candidates make up the group. Roland Lemaire and
Lucie Trudel will join forces to fulfill the function of mayor and
will work in co-administration with Charles Crawford, Eden Muir, Louis Roy, Charles Choquette
and Pierre Parent. We will
be supported in our work by citizens who have expertise in areas related to current projects.
Many urgent and important dossiers await us:
floods in the river valley;
the search for drinking water and its distribution;
the revision of the plan for the
treatment of waste water and the sewer network;
access to Internet high-speed outside the village core;
the repair of
the road network;
the construction of a fire station;
an emergency plan for
the Municipality;
the optimization and the inauguration of the Missisquoi
Community Centre;
the development of our parks;
the possibility of burying the electric
wires in the village,
and the development of other projects to promote Frelighsburg.
